Question phpmyadmin shows 404 error

Hello. I have installed mysql by using yum -y install mysql-server and it installed without any problem. Now when I tried to run the mysql using /etc/rc.d/init.d/mysqld start it says bash: /etc/rc.d/init.d/mysqld: No such file or directory. Also http://localhost/phpmyadmin shows a 404 page not found error. Please help.

What does "ls -l /etc/init.d/*mysql*" show? It may be that the init script is named differently.

Also, phpmyadmin would not be installed automatically with MySQL; you'll need to install it separately with yum.

Question ls -l /etc/init.d/*mysql* says:

ls -l /etc/init.d/*mysql*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 Jul 23 20:47 /etc/init.d/mysql -> /lib/init/upstart-job
