"Permission denied"?


Greetings,

When trying to run the program boinc_4.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu from Terminal as root, I can the error "bash: ./boinc_4.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu: Permission denied".

The file is in a folder on the root desktop.

make it executable:

chmod +x xxxxxxxxxxx

./xxxxxxxxxx

there are mountains of basic Linux documentation available. you can at least pretend to make an effort before posting:

you're right Raafi - that was a bit harsh and out of place. but there's a big difference between genuinely trying to solve a problem and understand what's going on, and looking for some guidance on points you're stuck on, vs. just posting every error message that pops up and expecting people to come running to explain every single step to you.....
