Unhappy PengAol - Help

Please help me,

I so much want to rid myself of windows and use linux, but the only thing that is stopping me is that i cant gain access to the Internet because I have to use AOL as my isp.

I have downloaded and installed pengAOL to my root account, but when i tell pengaol to connect, the following happens:

following is a transcript from the shell prompt:

peng -c woppy71 <my password here>

US robotics 56k fax ext rev 11.13.1
connection to access provider
connection speed 54666
ip address: 172.189.179.194
DNS address: 195.93.49.134
Domain name: client-179-194-aol.com
open: /dev/ppp0
failed saving /etc/resolv.conf

I am then disconnected!!!

Can anybody shed some light on the situation, as I really like linux but I am finding this situation frustrating to say the least.

btw, i am using SuSe 8.1 professional

kind regards,

Gary
