Opera plugin problems Red Hat 9

I've installed Acrobat Reader, which works OK. However, the plugin for opera (v7.21) doesn't. I've checked the paths in Help About Opera and in File Preferences and everything seems to be in the right place, including the nppdf.so file. If I tell opera to open pdf's with acroread, it works; but if I tell it to use the plugin it just gives me a blank screen.

The plugin for Flash is giving me the same headache - pages written with flash just come up empty. If I view the source code, it is obviously there and trying to run flash, but the emptyness persists.

Check this thread about the flash plugin.

I'd also upgrade you version 7.21 to the 7.23 that's now available (i did mine yesterday). If you check you preferences>plugins and then enable the netscape plugins, it's always made my acrobat reader "fire up" ok.

regards

John

Cracked it!! (Well -not really. I found the answer on a forum on opera's website...)

Its something to do with compatability with OpenMotif versions, but to cut to the chaste, all you have to do to get it working is cd to /usr/lib/opera/plugins

copy operamotifwrapper-3 to operamotifwrapper

Bingo!
