"Open with" in the same console session

Sorry for the weird subject line, but it's sort of hard for me to describe what I'm doing in one line.

Although I'm talking about running rtorrent, which a lot of users might not have experience with, I believe that this question could be asked of *any* console/text based program.

Basically, I started using rtorrent (a console based client) to download some torrents. For the first torrent, I right clicked in Konqueror and chose "Open with..." and wrote 'rtorrent' into the field.

Here is my problem: The second torrent opens in a new rtorrent session. I would like to right click another torrent, "Open with" rtorrent again, but have it load in the same console session as the first, not a new one.

Is there some sort of switch that I can add to the rtorrent command (or any console based program, for that matter) that would do this?

Thanks a million for any ideas!

I doubt it. Unless the console program has some sort of
interactive interface NCurses, or whatever, it's not going
to happen, since there is no defined means of inter-process
communication. Unless of course the program was originally
invoked to read it's input from a pipe.

Cheers,
Tink

Wouldn't it be possible to open it in a new tab inside the same window? (Although I'm not sure if that's something BaltikTroika Would like...)
