Post On installing gettting error messages?

At the end of disc 1 I got errored that in my var log mount I had a corrupt file in Netscape 7. 1 do I want to still go on. I did and then saw error mounting messages through the rest of the /var mounting. even into the second disc. Uhm. Now I have a copy of Netscape 7.1 that I could replace it with but new to this and first set up. I have no Idea whether I will need Netscape to get up or what to do once Im in for that matter. I just keep looking for the answers in installing instructions here and ther but an error message on the installation disc I don't know. I just purchased it from slackware the new 10. Any idea anyone? Or do you know where I could find the best step by step instruction on what to expect on the otherside. I did load this a few times now and I been to the other side once. Didnt have a clue what to do next or even if I was done. I guess I should have purchased Jermey book and I still probably will, but I just want to be able to get set up now! Thanks for any advice PJamz*

Do you get this message during installation if so at what point.
I would recommend going with another distro like fedora or mandrake til you get the hang of it cause those are a lot more user friendly than slackware.
