oh so close

Hi. I have a quick question for someone who is remotely familiar with the GATOS project (ATI AIW tv stuff). I have tried to install this package for quite some times <usually i give up for a few weeks and try again> but this time i feel i am very close (keep in mind i am not great at installations yet).

After I did the ./configure and the make... this is what came up:

*****************************************************

To try out AVview without installing it first run:

./start_avview.no_install

This will always use code in current directory,
even if another installed version of AVview exists

make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/Desktop/avview-0.80.3'
[root@linux avview-0.80.3]# ./start_avview.no_install
libzvbi available export modules:
HTML:keyword "html" mimetype "text/html" extension "html,htm"
PNG:keyword "png" mimetype "image/png" extension "png"
PPM:keyword "ppm" mimetype "image/x-portable-pixmap" extension "ppm"
Text:keyword "text" mimetype "text/plain" extension "txt"
VTX:keyword "vtx" mimetype "application/videotext" extension "vtx"
Cannot find pane frame for key /Configuration/Encoding settings: can't read "SETUP_PANES(/Configuration/Encoding settingsane_frame)": no such element in array
Error in startup script: invalid command name "Color theme"
while executing
""Color theme" choice [concat theme_name $theme_names]"
invoked from within
"if { [alsa_present] } {
add_parameter_pane "/Configuration/User interface settings" "User interface settings" \
"Display setup window on startup" c..."
(file ".//avview.scp" line 849)
invoked from within
"source $avview_directory/avview.scp"
(file "./start_avview.no_install" line 16)

#root@linux avview-0.80.3]#

****************************************
as you can see above, i tried the current directory use to see if i was close and I got some errors. if it helps, i did briefly get a window pop up that could only have been the tv

thank you for any ideas or help

jason

for anyone who has looked already thank you.... I did the make install anyways and the video is up.

however, the sound is not.. i suspect it has something to do with ASLA / ALSA (dont remember which it is). Any ideas are still appreciated... i hav class now and will be back in about 1 hr if anyone has any questions about my setup.. briefly: mandrake 9.2 in kde

thanks again

jason
