crypt


Hi
when i want to encrypt a file with crypt command in Redhat 9 linux version it is telling crypt not found. can any body help me out.

is crypt installed??

slocate crypt
locate crypt
rpm -q crypt

I wouldn't use crypt.
Look at gpg, an encrypting program with strong encryption based on public/private key cryptography.

It might be better to investigate tools such as gpg...

crypt package

Thanking u sir give the inormation
how to install the crypt,but it is not installed .
i am trying this type
i am in terminal and type this way

1)slocate crypt
2)locate crypt
3) rpm -q crypt

but it give the message
"package crypt is not installed"

please reply this message
