nsswitch.conf vs host.conf question


Hi,

Does nsswitch.conf and host.conf do the same job?

nsswitch.conf

hosts: files dns nis nisplus

host.conf

order hosts,bind

Which file gets called first, if there is a request? thanks in advance.
