"No root file system defined" Trying to install ubuntu 10.10

hello. this is my first time posting here. i'm very new to linux and need help installing ubuntu 10.10. i get part way through and then when i pick my drive to install to i get the message "no root file system is defined." i'm trying to install to a clean hard drive with a ext4 file system. does that sound right? please help. i know this probably sounds ridiculous, but i'll pick it up quick with a little guidance. i know it! thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

That should only happen if you are doing your own partitioning rather than accepting the Ubuntu suggestion(s) - is that the case ?.

When you select the partition and ext4 as the filesystem type, click the (probably empty) drop-down box for the mount-point. You want "/" (root) by the sound of it.

BTW, don't start another thread in an attempt to bump this - will likely get you slapped by a moderator.
