New Wireless G-Card Internet connect trouble

You guys have a wonderful form here and I think you guys will be able to help me.
I just purchased a wireless G-Card for my desktop and installed with no problems. The G-card has detected a connection with my neighbor but cannot establish an internet connection. There are no security passwords or any other blockers and I have a 40% connection. My neighbors PSP (playstation portable) will connect to this internet connection and he can view webpages by my desktop will not. I have followed the LAN settings according to the page that comes up when the internet connection is not established. I used to have DSL but that network connection has been deleted, how can I connect to the internet with this broadband connection? I have a connection established with the router but not the internet. Thanks in advance!

Can you ping the routers internal IP
Can you ping the routers external IP
Can you ping the IP for google. http://216.239.39.99/

What is the output of /sbin/ifconfig
Are you using static or dhcp connection?
What distro you working with?
Can the router see your connection?
Can your neighbor ping your IP?
