You can read RSS feeds using dedicated apps like liferea (gnome) and akregator (kde). There are also superkaramba and gdesklet themes that can read feeds from certain websites.

Muha, this is EXACTLY what I´ve been looking for! This makes the 4th time I´ve logged into this forum, and the 4th time the answer I needed was waiting for me! [Insert your diety of choice], I love this place!

I installed Slackware 10.2 on Monday, tweaked it Tuesday, got it online (q#3) Wednesday, and am shortly to install Wine once I find out how.
