new to ipsec, struggling

Hello all,

I'm trying to install IPSec on my computer, and am not exactly sure where I am going wrong.

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/e...host2host.html

That webpage is what I am trying to step through to set up a connection.

Everything looks the exact same up to the racoon.conf file.

Then when I try to use ifup ipsec0, the connection fails to be made.

The first time I tried it, it told me missing ifcfg-ifcfg file, so I created ifcfg-ifcfg-ipsec0 instead of ifcfg-ipsec0, and now it tells me nothing, except prints out the usage of the command like I am doing something wrong.

Specifically, it gives me

Usage: grep [OPTION]...PATTERN [FILE]...
Try 'grep --help' for more information.
Usage: grep [OPTION]...PATTERN [FILE]...
Try 'grep --help' for more information.
ethtool version 1.8
Usage:
ethtool DEVNAME
ethtool -a DEVNAME
ethtool -A DEVNAME\
[autoneg on|off ]\

.....

ethtool -S DEVNAME

if anyone has any input on this problem, I would be very grateful

Thanks in advance

Eagle
