new installation of debian; message upon reboot '/sbin/init' does not exist
I just installed debian on a new multiboot system which currently includes only solus and boots from the mbr. The bootloader was installed at the beginning of sda. Upon reboot, The installation went smoothly, but upon reboot, I got the message:"boot device mounted successfully, but /sbin/init does not exist. Bailing out, you are on your own. sh:can't access tty; job control turned off." So why don't I have /sbin/init, why is the message so unhelpful? I got a prompt at the message: [rootfs]# but no input was accepted and I had to shut it off manually. Could I have done anything else? Thanks to anyone who can help!
Thanks @colorpurple21859; by using boot-repair, I was able to find the problem. When setting up my partitions, I didn't allocate enough space for /boot; since it's a multiboot system, it needed more room.
