New for this...


Hi,
I am very much new for LINUX-ubuntu (.) One of my friend suggested for this & dared to test this. I had dual boot OS, ubuntu 9.04 & window-7 (.) But few days back, while upgrading 9.04 to 10.04, I met with the problem of booting using ubuntu (.) A black screen with weard msgs & then it stays there & do nothing...means I M unable to use ubuntu...silly attempt to upgarde.. (.) Kindly help me to way to understand the problem & solution too (.)

A direct upgrade from 9.04 to 10.04 is not supported, AFAIK. I would recommend to do a fresh install of 10.04.

Yes Tobi is right. Also try the latest ubuntu 11.04

11.04 is there.. If you are not comfortable with 11.04, you can use 10.10 also.
As the previous comment, probably it is a problem with the direct upgrade..But i am not really sure.

Note that Ubuntu 11.04 comes with a new desktop. I just want you to remember that if you don't like it, you can change it (while still using Ubuntu 11.04).
