Networking two linux boxes

Hi, Guys

I'm pretty new to this networking and I need some help here....I have a Linux mint 4.0 box which is connected to a wireless AP. The AP acts as a DHCP server I get an address 192.168.0.3 Snet 255.255.255.0 g/w 192.168.0.2 My link is encrypted. There is an XP box wired to the AP which my landlord uses. My 'wireless' Mint box also has a onboard lan card with a static address 192.168.0.6 snet 255.255.225.0 with no g/w which I connect to an Ubuntu server 7.04 with a cross-over. I want to network the two linux boxes but I'm not able to ping each other. The Ubuntu box I have set a static ip address 192.168.0.5 snet 255.255.255.0 with no g/w. For starters I just want the 2 linux boxes to talk to each other as I want to create a samba server on the Ubuntu box. How come I can't ping each other? How can I ping from a specified interface? Any help would be great!!

With this setup, your two interfaces will need to have different subnets. It's going to route to a particular subnet through a particular interface. I'd try putting the wired half of this on 192.168.1.x for example. Then, you should be golden with the crossover cable.
