Need help diagnosising an Unstable System

So 2 days ago everything was all fine on my machine. Has been for about a month, but all of a sudden as of yesterday I have no sound, I am seeing IRQ interupts on boot, During boot I am seeing file system is not clean, , and swap space is being used for the first time while doing normal task, etc. These are 2 new hard drives in RAID 1 with ReiserFS. I should have used a newer FS but thats a whole other argument.

Anyways here we go.
The system is Debian Lenny amd64
Physical RAM 4GB + 6GB swap

Any Ideas whats going on? Let me know if you need anything else?

Also no new hardware has been added and no hardware has changed or been removed. If you see anything about hardware being removes it is most likely due to hardware failure.

Nevermind. I figure if I haven't gotten a response in 4 hours, chances are I won't get a response here. Many times I have started a thread and after several days received no response. Many of my issues are not newbie issues so people are hesitant to take them on.

I have determined the hardware is ok. I booted Knoppix and tested all the hardware. Everything works fine. So I am down to a software issue. This sounds like a good time to redo my system and upgrade from ReiserFS to ext3 or ext4. I think I am going to backup my stuff and just reimage my system.
