Need help!

Hi,

I try to install debian etch 64 bit on a Dell PowerEdge R300 I did try the net install but it can not find and install the NIC drivers I did some reserch and it says that drivers voor Broadcom NetXtreme
10/100/1000 are included on the kernel 2.6 I did check the kernel on the server and it is 2.6.1B-6 amd64 (I did try the 32 bit etch i386 4a with the same result)any idea how can I solve this issue?

Thanks,

Shahin

You've made 38 posts and you STILL don't understand that "Need Help" is not a suitable thread title?

Quakeboy02 said it best, so I'm not going to rehash the "NEED HELP" title on your post.

That said, perhaps posting an actual error message, or some details about how it's not working would be helpful...saying it "can not find and install" isn't much to go on.

What have you done? What have you researched? Is the module loaded for your NIC? Does the interface show up?

Specifically, what kind of nic card do you have? (PCI IDs are best) What does ifconfig give you? dmesg?

Hi Matir,

Thanks for your replay,

The NICs are integrated gig Broadcom NetXtreme with chip 5722( tg3 driver ) the
if config returen only:

lo Link encap:Local Loopback
inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host
UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
RX packets:189 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:189 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
RX bytes:74271 (72.5 KiB) TX bytes:74271 (72.5 KiB)

And dmesg returen the hardware list but I can not see NICS there.

Let me know if can send you more info.
