Need Help

cant connect to the internet with my Linux Red Hat or from my Noppix std cd.
I can get in run spreadsheets/ word proccesors whatever but I dont know what to do to be able to browse the web with Mozilla etc.
I have tried some things where I typed in my ISP #'s etc. but to no avail.
I have a dial up modem if that will help anyone in helping me.

Am I to inexperienced with Linux? Should I give up.

I am in a UNIX course and consider myself to be somewhat adept at unix I just need to know how to get online.

Also, I have a computer with LInux redhat and Windows 2000 on it on a partitioned hard drive.

If I boot from a knoppix CD will any damage be done to my system or partitions?

Knoppix wont harm nor touchh your current installed OS's, nor HD's

For the internet, I can't help, I use cable-modem, but there are som ppp tools that should enable you to get connected.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
