[SOLVED] Need a little help with new Tails OS install

Hi Using win 10 pro. Just installed Tails on USB. Ran into two problems that should be easy to correct but not so much.
#1 Everytime I open TOR it asks if I want it to be defalt. I can choose yes all I want but doesn't change a thing.
#2 I am also unable to change the home page in TOR. Another easy fix but just won't work. Any insight would help.

Is that usb device read only? How does tails make persistent storage? Or does it.
