Navigating grub> on bootable USB drive

Hi
Used Rufus to create a bootable USB stick with latest Ubuntu 18.04 iso from Windows.

I need a bootable USB stick to repair my main drive which is too full, ie delete files.

However when I boot from this USB drive it seems I am in a grub menu. I see GNU GRUB 2.02 at the top with a grub> prompt.
How do I get out of this grub menu option?

It appears something went wrong with the USB live distro creation, or perhaps you have UEFI set wrong, or safe boot enabled in the bios.

when you used rufus what partitioning scheme did you select? Selecting for mbr and uefi will work on most computer.
