MySQL/MariaDB

On CentOS 7.6 I have installed MariaDB, but there's no real configuration files for either mysql/mariadb, except some files that points to other files. But none of the information guides say I have to change are in there.

There is a dedicated MariaDB setting area, but its empty. Do I put the config in there?

What version?

Have you looked at this document: https://mariadb.com/kb/en/library/co...-option-files/

Default options are read from the following files in the given order:
/etc/my.cnf ~/.my.cnf
