Music CD sound sux

Hi

When I play a music cd that I burned myself, the sound is quite awful - there is a terrible reverbation, a fuzzy kind of sound. I tried both CD Player and xmms and the results were sad. A store bought cd also sounds pretty bad...

However, both cd's sound much, much better under Winblows, and mp3's sound great on Linux (played on noatun).

Does anybody have any advice? How can I solve this problem?

Thanks
Joe
