Question multimedia helpwhen i try this for a newbie

Thanks for the help so far. I am very happy with my new linux OS
MDK9.1 except for the multimedia players.Help is there one app that can do it all? The way winmedia player does in windows.

now for my real questions (KDE desktop)
when i insert a audio cd should i be able to click the icon and see the tracks when i try this i get the message CAN NOT ENTER DIRECTORY
but i can play it with KsCD or rip it with Grip

Also when i try to play DVD it starts and plays for about 20 seconds then stops like there is nothing there but the intro screen I tried 4 players samething.

thanks for the help!

As far as the desktop icon is concerned - it's not going to work easily! The icon, by default, will open a file manager (konqueror) in that directory (/mnt/cdrom) so you can copy files, or whathaveyou. KDE comes with some fancy things (called IO Slaves) that will interpret things for you, so if you install the KDE CD IO Slave, you could access your audio CDs with cd:// (or something). However, making the icon load this by default when an audio CD is inserted is not going to be easy!
