Moved files to flash drive with mc and can't find them

Hi,
Was attempting to rescue some pictures from a non-booting opensuse laptop using knoppix, managed to boot to textbased graphic interface, fired up mc and after navigating to the pictures used F6 to moved to sdb1 (the flash drive) they appeared to move sucesfully but now cannot see them when checking the drive in windows and they are not in original drive when checking with knoppix.

Have I lost forever or can I recover them?

regards
John

With what filesystem was the flash drive formatted with?

Can you read the contents of the flash drive with knoppix?
