mounting usb devices through kde - brand newbie

When turning on my external usb burner or insert a mem card in my sandisk usb reader Konqueror automatically opens and I get these errors:

For the external Burner
konqueror opens with "media:/scd1 listed in the address bar" and displays this message:

"An error occurred while loading media:/scd1:
The file or folder media:/scd1 does not exist."

For the Sandisk reader
konqueror opens with "media:/sda1 listed in the address bar" and displays this message:

"An error occurred while loading media:/sda1:
The file or folder media:/sda1 does not exist."

I go to start menu.. System.. Disk Management - and see the usb devices
listed there.. When I highlight it and hit New what is the mount point that I should browse to?

I presume this should solve the above errors as my usb devives are being recognized but they are not mounted.

TIA
P.S. Very new to Linux (few weeks)
