mounting question

Hi,

If I use mount commant does it check /etc/fstab ? For an example

/dev/hada1 /home

If I jsut type "mount /home" , would it go throught /etc/fstab and mount?

Thanks
mokkan

exactly

You can give either or both the device and/or the mount point if it is listed in etc/fstab. Also `mount -a` will mount everything in etc/fstab

According to the man page
Quote:
When mounting a file system mentioned in fstab, it suffices to give only the device, or only the mount point.
so I think the answer to your question is simply yes (to not mention RTFM)
