Monit and Mysql

Does anyone know how to monitor mysql using monit, not only if the processes is alive but whether it can check if replication is running or not? From what I understand, monit is very similar to nagios, and nagios is able to do this.

Thanks.

Have a look at the examples in Replication monitoring with monit (requires Ruby).
