Mixart 8 Analog ALSA Setup on Red Hat Enterprise 5.3

Hello All,

I am trying to configure a Diggigram miXart 8 Analog adapter in a HP Proliant DL380 G5 server. Thus far I have had no success, just frustrations. I have searched the posts for solutions with no luck thus far.

Some info:

Kernel: 2.6.18-128.el5

lsmod snippet:
###################################################
Module Size Used by
snd_mixart 38848 0
snd_seq_oss 34176 0
snd_seq_midi_event 11136 1 snd_seq_oss
snd_seq 50384 4 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi_event
snd_seq_device 12044 2 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq
snd_pcm_oss 42528 0
snd_mixer_oss 19712 1 snd_pcm_oss
snd_pcm 72580 2 snd_mixart,snd_pcm_oss
snd_timer 25220 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm
snd 56644 8 snd_mixart,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq,snd_seq_device,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pcm,snd_timer
soundcore 11553 1 snd
###################################################

lspci snippet (just showed the line with the miXart adapter:
12:01.0 I2O: Motorola MPC8240 [Kahlua] (rev 13)

modprobe.conf:

/root/scsconfig.log (saw some interesting things in there, could be more)

###################################################

[root@localhost ~]# mixartloader
mixartloader: no miXart-compatible card found

[root@localhost ~]# alsamixer

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device

I found the class in the scsconfig.log file interesting, shows as a SCSI class, I assumed it should have showed up as a sound card or something similar.

Please let me know if there are additional details required.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mo
