When I try to open minecraft java (deb) it will either not do anything or just load forever (and i know this cause i left it to load for 5+ hours and it did nothing.)
I'd suggest just downloading the "Other .tar.gz" option and running the script itself without the installed Deb. I had this trouble till I eliminated the deb file and went straight to the source so to speak. Works fine. Something is different in the .deb version. What I cannot say.
You will need to create your own .desktop file and add an icon of course if you wanted. I keep the script in the /usr/local/bin folder.
