Microsoft integration services

I'm trying to install integration services on to RedHat Linux 5.5 (2.6.18-238.el5). I have followed the instructions and copied the files in to /opt/linux_ic_v21_rtm.
Next I try and run the make command and get this:

Building all modules...
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.18-238.el5/build SUBDIRS=/opt/linux_ic_v21_rtm/src modules
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.18-238.el5/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [all] Error 2

Any ideas please?

Well---the first thing is to get "/lib/modules/2.6.18-238.el5/build" installed.....I don't know if it is relevant, but do you have the kernel headers installed?

Hi,

How do I install this and also check to see if kernel headers are installed?

Thanks

Look in:
/usr/include
/usr/src/`uname -r`

If the headers are not installed, they should be available using your package manager

I experiencing same situation like you.
but finally find the solution.

In Hyper-V: Mount RedHat Linux 5.5 ISO image

# mkdir -p /media/cdrom
# mount /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom
# yum --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=c5-media install gcc make gnupg kernel-devel
# umount /dev/cdrom

Then follow the linux integration step.
good luck.
