Hi answerme,

from lspci:

I am guessing that you have a valid driver/module for your hardware. What make is your machine? Is it brand new, with brand new hardware? If so, linux may be behind the curve a bit. If you can find proprietary drivers for your hardware at a manufacturer website, you are in luck, however more likely you may have to wait a while!

Can you find out what type of audio card you have in your machine and post it here?
