Exclamation Memory Problems.

My memory capacity is 1GB and what my Suse 9.1 pro machine is doing is that the memory is increasing with out running any application software. It keeps increasing until it gets to the 1GB and then it crashes.

What can be the problem? Please help!

Thanks

There's probably some process running out of control; spamd (part of Spamassassin) used to do that to me. Try running 'top' from a command line and watch what it lists at the top of the page.

If it actually crashes your machine without ever using swap, you probably have bad memory w/ memory leaks, etc. I'd suggest doing a memtest against them. It is normal for linux to use all available memory, usually cached, etc.
