Mandrake 9 hanging at shutdown

I am using MDK 9 when i go to shutdown the system it will hang at this task

Cannot mount RPC: RPC: program not registered
unmount 2: device or resource busy
unmount: /net: device is busy

What does that mean and how do i correct the problem

Sounds like you've somehow got an NFS mount setup. Before you shutdown, try:

umount /net

I tried running umount /net before shutdown but that didnt work.
It still said, 'device busy'.

How do I go about disabling NFS mount?

go to the drakconf and "remove and stop the NFS" ....you should have no problem after that
