lspci issue wont list a card.

I dont have much experience with linux... but i do have a good idea on how to get my wireless working. But right off the bat... i issue 'lspci' and the output says nothing about my Linksys WMP54G PCI Wireless card. I know some chipsets use the broadcom and others use RaLink. But neither of those r listed in lspci. I issued 'update-pciids' and that didnt help at all. I could easily install the drivers. I have the RaLink drivers on my Linux.. but no point installing if the device isn't listed.

Long story short... how can i get my card to be recognized by 'lspci'

Is this an actual card plugged into a PCI slot or a wifi built into the mobo?
The reason I ask, is because I have seen some wifi "cards" that don't show up in lspci but do show up in lsusb.
I'm not sure why this is the case, but you could do a search for similar postings.
