Post lost admin password and f9 does not work! HELP


iIInstalled Linux Ubuntu 20.04 on my ASUS laptop, It seamed all good but after I login normally a message came up that it needed to update software I said OK and it asked to enter Admin password. I did but it came back as unacceble.I did it several times and still no good. I restated laptop and tried to enter Bios but the f9 key did not work. it comes back as error and the restarts. No matter what I can not even reinstall because it does not reconize CD to install.
I need help from a person that can heklp me. my email is jhr122546@gmail.com, I;m on eastcoast PLEASE SOMEONE I NEED HELP. :{

my system keeps timing out, please email me i then can log back on Please !

Please add the exact error you are getting from F9 key. If it is too much to type, add a picture.

Do you have any recovery mode/etc from grub? OFten there is a root shell, you can use that to set your password.

Just as a note:
Posting an actual email on a forum like this is a very very bad idea. You are actually giving the whole world your email address and I suggest you edit that post immediately if possible to obfuscate it so the bots don't start spamming you forever. It may already be too late.

If you can't edit it then report it and ask the moderators to do that for you.

As far as I know, there is no root password by default on Ubuntu
User created during installation only have "sudo" rights

So, it's your user password
