Question Logitech subwoofer has no bass sound coming from it

I am using Linux Mint 18.1 Serena
I have the Logitech Z313 sound system. The subwoofer has no bass sound coming from it. I have been communicating by email with Logiech about it.
He suggests that I Check the equalizer of the music audio

On sound output, it shows device as "speakers built in audio",
The fade and the subwoofer are not adjustable....
Why is that ?

How do I check the equalizer ?
Any suggestions to get the bass sound to come from the Logitech subwoofer welcome.

For starters, if you have not installed pavucontrol (the Pulse Audio mixer), do so. It give you much more ganular control than most out-of-the-box volume control applications. It's in the Mint repos.

I understand that there is also a Pulse Audio equalizer. I haven't used it, but this article should help.

Thanks

Thanks much frankbell. I will check that out. It appears the subwoofer is broken. Logitech listened to it and when I turn volume all the way up, it is messed up....
