Wink Unbootable USB

I think I will give Linux Ultimate a miss. It does not seem very viable. from reading the web page, it appears to be a one-man band setup. There is no checksum associated with the distro. So I may as well mark this thread as SOLVED.

https://distrowatch.com/?newsid=09873 this is the page where you can find this linux ultimate. You can click on download(MD5) and you can find all the iso images available. Additionally there is a file named MD5SUMS.TXT where you can find all the related checksums.

same problem and found a solution

I was having the same problem. It turned out to be the program I was using to make the bootable usb. Initially I used Startup Disk Creator. It said it created the disk successfully. But when I tried to boot to the new usb it stopped at a blank screen with a steady cursor and no response to keystrokes.
I used mkusb to create the bootable usb, using the same .iso, the same usb drive and the same computer. I plugged it into the same computer I was using before and it booted right up.
What made me suspicious is I was trying to share a couple of distros with a friend. One worked and the other didnt' so I started looking at what differences there were and finally happened on this solution.

I just, within the last week, downloaded Ultimate Edition 6.6 and found the sha1 checksum no problem. There is a link on the download page. I do wish there was a sha256 checksum though.
