Linux stop booting after HAL

When the computer is turned on it get stuck some where in the midle. The last line that appeared with a green OK (at the right end of the line) is "Starting HAL daemon OK" there after everything stucks. Cant even type using the keyboard.

But if I boot to run level 3 and Log in and when typed "init 5" then it goes to run level 5 without any problem.
