Hello jkim,

if I've understood your question correctly, you may find help here: http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Partition/ and additionally I'd recommend to read the manpage for fdisk or cfdisk. This means execute
Code:
man fdisk
in a terminal.

I don't understand. What do you mean?

Anyway, there is no "CMD" (whatever that is) in Linux. There's a terminal (a program that lets you read an write text to a program), a shell (a program that interprets your commands and runs them), and command line applications.
