I am running RedHat 9, and am having Internet connectivity issues using the Mozilla browser. Basically, the problem that I am having is that I cannot connect to the Internet in Linux lately for large portions, in fact most hours, of the day. The problem is not my modem, because I am still able to connect in my WinXP account using IE. I do not know if there is something that changed in my Linux network configuration or if I need to upgrade Mozilla, or if it due to RedHat not supporting Linux anymore.

I noticed when I logout of Linux and the connection is down, there are many error messages regarding that the network provider is not communicating or cannot be found.

There may be a modem driver problem or other kind of configuration problems. Please copy the errors you get and if you can, look into your /var/log/messages and try to find messages about your modem (those about connections will start with 'pppd' at the beginning of the line after a timestamp).
