Linux on Android TV box - how usable?

I want to install Linux on an Android TV box.
I wanted to hear from others who had done this.
How usable is it?

Intended usage: JUST browsing. Max 4/5 tabs open at anytime.
Assume the box has 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.

Thanks.

I feel it also depends on the hardware interfaces provided.

I'd suggest not even bothering and just getting a RasPi 3 B+ and pick your preferred flavour of Linux.

If one did have an ability to install some linux on such a product it would usually support web browsing to some degree.

They make 1000's of these devices. Some do offer some version of linux. Some have some web presence that tells you how to do it. Otherwise it is a complex task usually. You have to learn a bunch of new things to get it working and the versions of linux available are reduced. An unknown box might end up almost impossible to get working for even the most advanced users.
