Linux MINT Cinnamon and MATE and VMWARE help

I have Mint Mate and Cinnamon and I try to boot them up on VMWare but It just goes through the first 10 second boot up screen and freezes. These two distros are a x64 version but VMWare gives the option for 32bit versions of the OS. I was wondering if this was the problem. How should I configure the settings so the OS boots up?

I think that you may have better luck using VirtualBox instead.

VM is Virtualbox, I just dont understand why my x64 OS's for MINT arent booting up. I cant get past the 10 second boot menu.

VMware and VirtualBox are similar but they are different.
