Linux key abbreviations

I would like to make a pdf tutorial for friends or even the general public who want to learn VirtualBox.

I run Shutter, and this program doesn't handle the shortcut action configurations. When I go to http://shutter-project.org/faq-help/...hot-tool/#lxde, they redirect LXDE users to http://wiki.lxde.org/en/LXDE:Questio...the_hotkeys.3F. When I go to this page, I use the search tool within my browser to find only one mention of "shortcut", which is in the Change Hotkeys subsection. In this section, it describes how to Edit ~/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml with your favorite text editor. However to do this, I must know which Roman letters are used to abbreviate for the "Print Screen" keyboard button.

Where may I obtain the Linux Keyboard abbreviations (which abbreviations linux uses for each key on the keyboard)?

Hi,

I think you can may be able to get the information you need using the program "xev" (in the x11-utils package). Run the program from a terminal put your pointer in the window that pops up: then the keycode and name etc for each key you press will appear in the terminal.

HTH,

Evo2.
