looks like you are installing Linux first then Windows, if this is the case then first install Windows then Linux. if not please post here again with more information like your partition choice, no of HDD.

Which windows version are you using?
Where did you install the Grub bootloader for Red Hat? mbr? root partition? boot partition?
I'm not familiar with Red Hat so I don't know if it is a Live CD. If you can get online with your Red Hat or any other Linux CD, google "bootinfoscript", go to the site, download and run it and post the output here. It should give all the information necessary so someone can explain how to resolve the problem.

you did buy a license for RHEL5 ?? right ??
it is not free
also why the older 5 ( need it for a specific program) and not the current RHEL6.1 - also NOT FREE
https://www.redhat.com/support/
-- the purchase page ---
desktop
https://www.redhat.com/apps/store/desktop/
server
https://www.redhat.com/apps/store/server/

did you read many "how to's"
windows 7 uses a "recovery" partition that is causing all kinds of "#%H^*V?*<)NA!IU&-- bleeped" problems for everyone else

if you MUST use RHEL5
keep in mind it IS designed to be ran on a headless server and on the desktop a as an afterthought
playing music will be HARD
watching videos - VERY HARD
installing firefox 5 or 6 -- IMPOSABLE
playing most games - hard to almost imposable .

if all you want to do is give a linux distro a look i would suggest Ubuntu

Ubuntu is DESIGNED with the "new to linux" user in mind

If you have your windows intact, this should take you out of the grub prompt.

Quote:
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader +1
makeactive
boot
If you have installed windows after installing linux, then you will have to reinstall grub using a live cd.
