LibreOffice Calc Autoformat

Hello everyone,

A simple silly questions:*On LibreOffice Calc, the Autoformat option is sometimes not available.

This option is accessible via the tab Format -> AutoFormat Styles.

It seems that this option is accessible sometimes, and sometimes not, for unclear reasons.

Would you have an idea why?

Perhaps it is only available if you have selected a range of cells?

Ah! Thanks hydrurga, I*think we have an element of the answer here.

It seems that the AutoFormat require at least two lines and three columns to be accessible.

Why this 3-columns limit? It makes no sense to me. Does someone has an idea?

I have no idea, but perhaps there are certain formats that need 3 columns to include all the variation within the specified format. For example, considering that the left-hand column is intended for the row title, then the Simple Grid Columns format needs two additional columns in order to show the alternating backgrounds.

Interestingly on my system, AutoFormat requires three selected lines, not 2 (for example, 2 lines by 3 columns does not work).

In saying the above, it doesn't really matter since you can carry out the AutoFormat with a third line or column and then delete it afterwards.

If it bothers you, you can raise an issue on LibreOffice's bug tracker - https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/
