LFS on Damn Small Linux

Hi i recently got a computer which is a P2 with 128 ram and a 13 gig hd.
so i thought ill dedicate it to learning linux.
Please suggest what distro to use and if i use DSL which i have downloaded how to get all the pre-requisite packages ? Would it support those packages from Debian ?
Or DSL wont work ?

Welcome to the forums! DSL is very popular for older hardware (but unfortunately no longer under active development) as are Puppy, SliTaz, and TinyCore.

Look at slitaz or austrumi. Slitaz has a floppy to boot to so that you can then load from CD.
