kubuntu 8.10 wireless problem

hi...........
i have a laptop, toshiba a205-s5833 with atheros ar5007eg wireless adapter. i have installed kubuntu 8.10 in usb hdd through the tutorial from pendrive linux (USB Kubuntu 8.10 Persistent Install using Windows _ USB Pen Drive Linux). now im trying to install madwifi, butw when i tried to install it, i got an error and iwconfig still dont display any wireless driver (ath0). since the first time, there is no wireless driver detected. anyone can help me please......

Ubuntu (and Kubuntu) already come with drivers for Atheros wireless cards. I'm not sure exactly where this is in the Kubuntu menu, but in Ubuntu using Gnome it is under: "System > Administration > Hardware Drivers". Look for that in the Kubuntu menu. It should show you your Atheros wireless card, and you can just click "Activate" at the bottom to turn on the driver. Then reboot and try iwconfig and see if your wireless works.
