for some reason, i can run kppp fine, i can connect and leave it for ages and it will be fine. until i send anything over the internet. as soon as i open firefox my homepage starts to load then the pc crashes. same with when i tried to update my system with yum through the terminal. it really does seem that its just when data is recieved the pc cant handle it. the kppp log remains empty so i assume the crash doesnt allow it time to write any errors.
when you say it crashes, you mean, reboots or freezes?
If it freezes, when it happens can you move the mouse?
when pressing caps lock the led on the keyboard is going on?
the whole system freezes. the mouse pointer wont move, the scroll lock and num lock LED's flash on and off continuously but i have no control over my keyboard. the webpage wont finish loading either. it just completely dies. im using an external modem and a new development is that when using a pay as you go isp no freezing hapens. it only happens when im using my unlimited isp. the pay as you go isp was freezing until i turned flow control off but i have tried various combinations for the unlimited isp and no joy. any ideas?
