i have prob. in kppp program . the errore massage ..
timeout expired while waiting for ppp interface to come up
my comp. is p4 2.8 - 512 RDram- external us robotics serial faxmodum in port dev/tts/0
plz. i need your help i use arabian , knoppex3.8 ,suze , adios and linus xandros all distreputions have the same massage errore after coplete dialup the no. and waiting to log in to network
the ppp log give me error number 15 modom is hungup

On mine the tty/0 (or com 1), has the mouse. The modem is on tty/1, 2, or 3

I found a good cheap modem by Stratitec model IC56A, that goes right on. I was having problems with modems that would not connect also. I got this one at Walmart for $23.85. I could not find it listed at Pricewatch.

It is PCI and V92, runs on Kernel 2.4 or later.
